diVa – A vaginal resurfacing treatment for women’s intimate health

More women today are seeking answers about the changing functionality of their bodies during menopause. In particular, they want relief from symptoms of Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause (GSM), such as painful intercourse, vaginal dryness, and frequent urination. Unlike some menopausal symptoms that can resolve over time, GSM is chronic and may worsen if left untreated. Until recently, there were no effective treatments that didn’t require pills, surgery, or a combination of both.

Improving Women’s Lives

diVa is the first-ever hybrid fractional vaginal laser designed to address GSM symptoms and improve a woman’s quality of life.

The diVa Hybrid Fractional Vaginal Laser is licensed by Health Canada and is intended for the improvement of Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause symptoms.

How it Works

In a 3 to 5 minute procedure, your clinician inserts the diVa® applicator into the vaginal canal and treats targeted areas using two different laser wavelengths that pulse in rapid succession. One laser resurfaces vaginal tissue by treating the upper layers of the vaginal wall. The second laser applies energy to the deeper layers to remodel collagen and return the vaginal wall to an improved state. Your clinician can customize your treatment plan based on your vaginal health and symptoms.

What it Treats

Getting Relief From GSM Symptoms

VulvoVaginal Atrophy (VVA)

VulvoVaginal Atrophy (VVA) is the thinning, drying, and inflammation of the vaginal walls. It most commonly occurs in postmenopausal women. VVA can make intercourse painful and may lead to urinary symptoms such as frequent or painful urination.

Dyspareunia

Dyspareunia is painful intercourse and is described as persistent or recurrent pain that occurs just before, during, or after intercourse. It is often felt at the opening (introitus) of the vaginal canal.

Stress Urinary Incontinence

Stress Urinary Incontinence occurs when your bladder leaks urine during physical activity or exertion, such as coughing, sneezing, or exercising.

Vaginal Dryness*

Vaginal Dryness is a common symptom of menopause resulting in itching, irritation, and burning of the vagina. It is caused by a decrease in natural lubrication from a drop in estrogen levels. According to the August 2021 Women’s Health edition from Harvard Health Publishing, 1 out of 3 women experience vaginal dryness and 50-90% do not seek treatment*. *Havard Health Publishing; Women's Health; August 2021

What to Expect

Consultation for a diVa Laser Treatment

During a consultation with a diVa clinician, your symptoms and vaginal health will be evaluated to determine the best treatment plan for your goals. diVa technology is fully customizable to fit each woman’s unique concerns.

The diVa Experience

Before treatment, the provider will apply a topical anesthetic cream to numb the treatment area and enhance patient comfort.

A clear, strengthened quartz sapphire dilator is attached to the diVa handpiece providing a hygienic cover that gently expands the canal while remaining stationary during treatment.

You should feel minimal to no discomfort as the provider gently inserts the handpiece into the vaginal canal. The laser energy is automatically and uniformly delivered to the vaginal wall through a small window as it rotates within the dilator. As it travels the distance of the canal, a sensation of slight tapping may be felt. Typically, the procedure takes 3-5 minutes.
